Useful Info & Links

The ARA website provides a large amount of useful information about racing competitively and also has some coaching tips. You will need to be an ARA member if you want to race in ARA events (ie most races), although some races on the Cam are run under CRA rules.

The Cambridge Rowing Association website has a lot of interesting information about rowing history in Cambridge, along with some vital info about local races including the Bumps (including the rather complex rules of entry!).

General Information

David Biddulph's Rowing Pages are an invaluable source of information. Particularly useful are the rowing calendars which lists just about every rowing event in the country. There is also a well-maintained events calendar at the Champion of the Thames website.

Training, Coaching & Coxing

  • The Concept 2 website has some very useful training plans for indoor rowing.
  • 'Peak Performance' has many interesting articles on training and diet for a variety of sports.
  • There are some tips on basic technique at the Brasenose College website.
  • The Durham University Boat Club advanced technique page has a large number of useful links and information.
