CCRC has an active junior squad for rowers aged between 12 and 18, with around 40 members. The club aims to introduce rowing to young people and to help them to enjoy and progress in the sport. We have two sides to the junior squad: a racing squad and a recreational squad. Juniors are matched to one of these groups depending on their own ambitions and level of commitment. Some juniors will compete in local and regional regattas and races against other junior rowers from other clubs. Where juniors progress in their training and rowing ability, there is the option, too, to aim to race at national level races.

Junior Taster Day

CCRC's junior section runs taster days for juniors during the school holidays about 3 or 4 times per year. These days give the potential rower a chance to have a go at all aspects of rowing (indoor rowing, circuit training as well as getting out on to the water) to see whether it is a sport they may enjoy. The days are good fun and open to all.

If you would like to be kept informed of the date of our next taster day, please send a request by email to  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Junior racing in March

CCRC Juniors - Racing in March

Charlotte's report

As the City juniors don't like the easy option, March provided the opportunity to continue the trend of February and race lots and lots in as many different places, boats and combinations as possible.

The month started with Champs Junior Sculling Head, rowing on home water in a race as different to the Winter League as possible by being a) "really not very long" at 1,450m and b) sunny.
