Amazing to see everyone bringing the festive spirit with some epic fancy dress!

Well done to Jesus “Best of the Loch” for their magnificent effort and roaring through the race.

Also well done to 99’s for doing a great line in an 8+ with no rudder strings.

Boathouse Opening

Uncategorised

2nd October 2022

Our official boathouse opening!

A day full of celebrations, including taking our entire fleet for a paddle together. Henley then came to Cambridge as we transformed our boathouse into the City Enclosure.

A big thanks to all who came and contributed to this special day.

City comes home with medals in the A2-, as well as three second places and one third.

Competition was tough with many former internationals turning up. We were also hindered by EasyJet cancelling Chris (our own former international) and Kate Ware’s flight meaning they missed the regatta. The key results were:

1st – Men’s A 2- Tom Hetherington and Andrew Marsden

2nd – Men’s B 2- (Barney Price Tom Hetherington) , Women’s B 2x (Mez Dubois Van Slageren), Men’s A 4- (Barney Price, Andrew Marsden, Tom Upton, Will Schofield)

3rd – Men’s A 4+ (Julie Hogg, Tom Hetherington, Andrew Marsden, Tom Upton, Will Schofield)

Solid placings against former internationals in the A8+ and C8+ (the latter despite equipment failure during the race)

Big thanks to Stirling Rowing Club, St Andrew Boat Club, Peterborough City Rowing Club, Ardingly Rowing Club and Thames Rowing Club for providing subs and Sudbury RC for driving the trailer.

Congratulations to our senior W4+ who won in style at the Bedford Regatta today.

The crew initially beat Putney High School and Lea Rowing Club easily, then in the final finished a length ahead of Warwick University!
