Winter Head 2 Head
The Winter Head 2 Head takes place at the end of January on the river Cam.
The race is two lengths of 2,000m: race downstream, spin, and race back upstream for one of the longest races on the Cam!
The first leg starts at the Chesterton Railway Bridge in Cambridge and finishes at the A14 bridge. Boats spin at the lock and racing starts again at the A14 bridge and finishes at the Chesterton Railway Bridge.

Entries
Boats can be entered under Student or Cambridge Rowing Association.
Winter Head 2 Head features categories for Open, Women’s and Mixed categories and in: 8+, 8x+, 4-, 4+, 4x, 4x+, 2-, 2x, 1x and will be £13.00/seat.
Entries will open around 2nd January.
Entries will close at latest 24th January.
Last season entries, waitlist and emails totaled to 120% of race capacity. To help with this an additional division is being added for 2027 which will provide an additional net 20 places (not enough to fully absorb the additional demand, but helps slightly).
Prizes
Pots will be awarded for:

Prize giving will be in the City of Cambridge Boathouse at 5pm
Where possible eights will be banded into groups of 6-10 boats based on either Lents start position (college) or estimate of ability (CRA). Last year both we had 8 categories of open eights and 7 categories of womens eights.

Numbers can be collected from the City of Cambridge Boathouse on the morning of the event. Please note we will be using Empacher number boards so each boat will need an Empacher slot.
Boats must be at the marshaling area at least twenty minutes before the start of the division.
