Why City?

The club offers a range of opportunities for existing rowers (both sweep and scull) and coxes ranging from those that want to compete at the national level to those who just want to get out in a boat.

The club is divided into a range of senior squads are divided into performance, core and development groups with each group putting together multiple crews based largely on training commitment and race targets.

We offer:

  • A top class Filippi fleet, supported by an effective maintenance program and regular boat buying schedule

  • A full time Director of Rowing

  • Strength & Conditioning coaching for all

  • Cox training and support

  • Mini-training camps at the Cambridge Boathouse at Ely

  • An annual training camp

  • A new, modern boathouse (rebuilt in 2019)

Recent successes have included wins at Pairs Head, Wallingford Regatta and medals at the Masters’ Championships.  The club also competes at the various tideway heads, Henley regattas, World Masters’ Championships. The club currently holds both the men's and women's Bumps Headship.

Membership options

  • Full member including Junior and Student options (full access to all facilities)

  • Cox member (full access to all facilities, including coxing but not rowing)

  • Social member (full access to all facilities, excluding the gym. Does NOT include rowing/boat use) 

  • Temporary member (full access to all facilities, subject to safety and competency checks, for a short period). Example, a visitor to Cambridge who is an experienced rower, staying for up to 6 months.

  • “Bumps” membership (full access to all facilities, subject to only a safety check, for the month of July, including in the Town Bumps event).

Fees for season 25/26

  • Senior – £444

  • Student (year round)* – £266

  • Junior (under 18) – £266

  • Junior Performance – £266 + £45/mo

  • Social (non-rower) – £89

  • Cox (non-rower) – £10

  • Temporary Membership**  – (for short term visitors) – £65/month

* A student is anyone in full-time education after the age of 18.

** The temporary membership fee will be deducted from the full fee if the membership is extended at end of the temporary period. This does not apply to the Learn to Row course fee, which is run separately to club membership. 

 

Note: Membership payment must be made before the end of October. There is a 10% admin fee for late payment.
