Spring Head 2 Head

Our annual Spring Head 2 Head race takes place on the Saturday of the Cambridge Big Weekend and this year will be on 3 May 2025.  Planning is currently underway.

​

The race is two lengths of 2,000m: race downstream, spin, and race back upstream for one of the longest races on the Cam!
 

The first leg starts at the Chesterton Railway Bridge in Cambridge and finishes at the A14 bridge. Boats spin at the lock and racing starts again at the A14 bridge and finishes at the Chesterton Railway Bridge.

Boats can be entered under Student or Cambridge Rowing Association.

Winter Head 2 Head features categories for Open, Women’s and Mixed categories and in: 8+, 8x+, 4-, 4+, 4x, 4x+, 2-, 2x, 1x.

Prizes

Winners for categories with 3 or more entries (or 2 or more for juniors) will receive prizes.

Prize giving will be in the City of Cambridge Boathouse shortly after racing has finished.

Numbers can be collected from the CCRC boathouse from 7:45am.

Boats must be at the marshaling area at least twenty minutes before the start of the division.
